Recent progress on hybrid reactive-extractive distillation for azeotropic separation: A short review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The reactive-extractive distillation (RED) has the advantages of combining beneficial features both reaction and separation processes. Relative to conventional reactive or extractive distillation-based processes, RED is also less energy intensive as it relies on heat produced for subsequent process. Therefore, application ternary azeotropic become subject popular interest, evident by increasing number publications since 2020. This review paper first that puts together, in a chronological manner, all existing studies date, starting from initial three column (TCRED) most recent dividing wall (DW-RED), separation, so rapid progress this area summarised any gaps these easier identify future work. last part provides potential areas work, i.e. analysis sustainability RED, combination different process intensification strategies improve efficiency performance, further exploration control RED.

BK1064-ch68_R2_250706 PRESSURE SWING BATCH DISTILLATION FOR HOMOGENOUS AZEOTROPIC SEPARATION
The separation of the homogeneous azeotropic mixture acetonitrile/water by pressure swing distillation (PSD) is considered. The PSD is operated as a discontinuous (batch) process and two batch modes, regular and inverted, are considered. The processes are analysed, aspects as to which batch mode should be preferred are discussed, and a dynamic model for both batch PSD processes is formulated. T...
متن کاملExtractive distillation: recent advances in operation strategies
Extractive distillation is one of the efficient techniques for separating azeotropic and low-relativevolatility mixtures in various chemical industries. This paper first provides an overview of thermodynamic insight covering residue curve map analysis, the application of univolatility and unidistribution curves, and thermodynamic feasibility study. The pinch-point analysis method combining bifu...
متن کاملSeparation of Azeotropic Mixtures in Closed Batch Distillation Arrangements
Batch time (energy) requirements are provided for the separation of ternary zeotropic and heteroazeotropic mixtures in three closed batch column configurations. Two multivessel column modifications (with and without vapor bypass) and a conventional batch column operated under the cyclic policy, were studied. The multivessel column performs always better than the conventional column and the time...
متن کاملPorous Gold Films—A Short Review on Recent Progress
Porous gold films have attracted increasing interest over the last ten years due to the unique properties of high specific surface area and electrical conductivity combined with chemical stability and ability to alter the surface chemistry. Several methods have been developed to synthesize porous gold films such as de-alloying, templating, electrochemical, and self-assembling. These porous gold...
متن کاملDividing wall columns for heterogeneous azeotropic distillation
The aim of this work is to implement heterogeneous azeotropic distillation schemes in a dividing wall column (DWC) for a feed mixture of water (W), acetic acid (HAC) and an organic component (X). The original design makes use of X to act as an entrainer to facilitate the separation of water and HAC, and we also propose a DWC design based on this idea. This DWC design reduces the capital cost, b...
